Adevastating earthquake measuring 8.9 jolted northeastern coast of Japan at 00:46 am (Peruvian time), generating a tsunami in the northern region of China and the respective alert for more than 15 countries, including Peru. According to Japan Meteorological Agency, the quake was the most violent ever recorded in the territory of Japan.
An earthquake of 8.9 magnitude on the Richter scale rocked thenortheastern coast of Japan in what was the second violent earthquake that occurs in that part of the earth. In principle, the USGS has indicated that the intensity was 7.9
DEVASTATING WAVES
Japanese television showed extensive damage by a tsunami in northern Japan. The public television network NHK showed cars, trucks, homes and buildings were swept away by the tsunami in Onahama cityin the prefecture (province) of Fukushima.

• Authorities Parachique Bay suspended classes and alerted the population through self speakers and local stations to take preventive measures against a possible tsunami.
• artisanal fishermen Sechura mariculturists take their precautions before the warning of a possible tsunami. The leader of this association, Claudio Collazos, saidthat today will not come to work and evacuate their boats to safe areas to avoid suffering any damage.
