THE HOUSE OF TERROR: AMITYVILLE

All stories have ever haunted houses or haunted houses, even urban legends that relate to the typical gloomy mansion, sinister and abandoned where strange things happen. Many of these stories never cease to be mere rumors or legends. However, sometimes these stories are true and the rawness of events far exceeds many of the fictional horror stories tonot sleep. One of these stories, real sad truth of the Amitivylle house. Some already know what happened either by novels, films or television reports.

THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD'S MOST FAMOUS HOUSE, AMITYVILLE 112 OCEAN AVENUE

The 112 Ocean Avenue in Amityville, south of Long Island, twenty miles from the city of New York, can be called "mansion" for how big it is. Besides construction,covers many acres and a pier. The land was initially used by Native shinnecocks to drop off the insane, the dying and the sick. They were left there imprisoned until they died of hunger and thirst. Then they were buried there. This custom lasted centuries.

In the late seventeenth century, settlers appropriated the territory. The first house that there began to be built up from the basement, andlater built the rest of the house, being this Dutch Colonial home. The owner was John Catchum or Ketcham, who had been expelled from Salem, Massachusetts, for practicing witchcraft. Once at the mansion, had continued performing satanic rituals, including animal sacrifices with and, as rumored, children. When he died, he was buried in the grounds of the house and this was burned. The second house wasbuilt in 1928 and is to date there. The builder was a man named Monarham. Several families were their owners, until Riley sold to the DeFeo family. After the incidents that occurred there, they discovered a small room in the basement containing a well and was not shown on the plans. This room had walls painted red and became one of the mysteries of the mansion in Amityville.

 On November 13,1974, Ronald DeFeo held what had long been planned, but later declared that this was an "order" because he heard voices telling him that he had to. Drugged his family to not awaken. Even lay just lay on the bed. He waited until 3:15 in the morning, when the time came, he got up and grabbed a hunting rifle of the many that were in his room, he was fond of hunting.

Ronald came first in the parents'room and shot them in the head. He had four children, two girls and two boys. The kids slept in the same room, the girl, Allison, age thirteen, he did the same floor as their parents, but left for later. She was the only person who woke up when he heard the shots. Ronald was discovered that not only tested the first course of dinner, where sprayed sleeping pills. But this was worth: also killedher, but first took her to his bed. He killed all his brothers. Then covered them with a blanket, put as sleeping face down, arms behind his head, crossed. He wiped some of the blood on the walls and when he finished he went to work. He did it earlier than usual, but sought an excuse: I could not sleep and well ahead at work. As his father had to make a sale that morning, it was good it did notshow, so you have more time to manufacture an alibi. During the course of the morning, Ronald DeFeo made some calls home knowing that no one would respond, and when he spoke to his girlfriend decided to eat together. Thus time and stretched his alibi, from their point of view, it was more consistent.

Later he saw a friend named Bobby and told him that he had gone through his house and seen thefamily cars, but no one opened the door to get the newspaper every day wearing them. After meeting with his girlfriend, Ronald was the bar "The Witche's Brew" where Bobby was meeting and asked for help. He was apparently concerned about his family, because he claimed that he too had been in the house, but could not get in. There keys, and equally surprised that no one had opened the door.
