RESUMEN
El presente estudio tiene por objetivo analizar e interpretar la información
contenida enlos estados financieros de la Estación de Servicios del Ausstro
Cía. Ltda. durante los períodos 2008-2012, mediante métodos de análisis
financiero, para determinar el nivel de eficiencia de las operaciones de la
empresa y contribuir a la toma de decisiones.
Aplicando técnicas de análisis vertical, horizontal e índices financieros, se
determinó que las áreas que merecen mayor atención porparte de la
administración son: la liquidez corriente, a causa de la reducida cobertura de
los activos corrientes frente a las obligaciones de corto plazo; la reducida
rentabilidad, que resulta de una elevada carga operativa y financiera; y sobre
todo, el elevado nivel de endeudamiento de la empresa, que la vuelve mucho
más riesgosa que otras de la misma industria. Al 2012 el nivel deendeudamiento de la empresa alcanza al 87%, mientras el promedio de la
industria está en 55%.
Puesto que la mayor parte del endeudamiento proviene de los socios de la
empresa, se recomienda capitalizar estas obligaciones. De esta manera se
lograría reducir el endeudamiento hasta un 54%, aproximándose a la media
del sector y mejorando sustancialmente el nivel de solvencia así como la
eficienciade la gestión operacional de la empresa y sus resultados, con lo
cual se lograría impulsar el crecimiento sostenido del negocio en el tiempo.

ABSTRACT

This study is meant to analyze through financial analysis methods, the
information shown in the financial statements of “Estación de Servicios del
Ausstro Cía. Ltda.” during the period 2008 -2012, in order to determine the
efficiency level in the operations of the business and therefore contribute in
the decision making process.
Once the vertical,horizontal and financial ratios techniques were applied on
the financial statements, it is advisable to pay major attention on the cash
flow, because of the reduced margin of coverage of the current assets facing
short term obligations. The reduced profit is a result of high operational and
financial expenses and especially high debt level of the business. These
factors increase the risk of“Estación de Servicios del Ausstro Cía. Ltda.”
among others in the same area. Up to 2012 the debt level is 87% while the
average in this industry is 55%.
Since most of the debt comes from the partners of the business, it is
advisable to capitalize these obligations, in order to reduce the debt reaching
54%, and improving substantially the solvency ratio, the efficiency of the
operationalmanagement and the results and achieve in this way the
sustainable growth of the business in the long term.
