1. Test samples determining kind of tests.
We came to the conclusion that the exam we analyzed is an achievement test, because it is a test that was used to determine how much students had succeededin certain period of the course, also to know if students really learned what T taught during that period. It is also a progress test because it was applied at the middle of the semester; it was nota final one (Arthur Hughes.)
We also found that this sample is a very traditional test and is too focus on grammar; it is a multiple choice exam, in which students already have the answers writtenand they just have to choose the correct one.
2. Tests samples determining kind of testing
This sample is the same as the previous one, as it is mentioned before, it is focus on the grammaticalstructures, and it is about 14 exercises and it is a total of 50 items.
Through the analysis of this sample, we found that all the exercises are discrete point, because they are focus just in onelanguage element. In this exam they ask students to answer about only one grammatical structure in each exercise (Arthur Hughes.)
We also found that all the exercises are direct, because all of themrequire students to perform precisely the skill which we wish to measure. It means that all the exercises are focus just in the development of one skill, they ask students to perform just what they askfor and that is it (Arthur Hughes.)
3. Determining hybrid characteristics
The characteristics that we have to take into account when determining if an exam is hybrid or not are:
* Discrete,isolated items.
* Divergent, Open-ended, global comprehension items.
* Sequential, naturalistic discourse.
In order to be a hybrid exam, it has to have at least the first three pointsmentioned above, if not it is not considered as a hybrid exam ((Alice Omaggio.)
