The Archaic Writer
The improvements of technology have increase overtime therefore; it has become very important in ourlives, making us depend on it more than necessary. According to “Technology, Movement, and Sound,” by Ed Bell “we use it indiscriminately, not distinguishing the good uses from the bad.” An exampleof how to distinguish between the good uses and bad uses of technology is using a more modern, less efficient leaf blower to collect the leaves instead of using a less advanced, more efficient rake.The negative effects of a leaf blower are that they cost more money and make disturbing noises that might bother people such as the neighbors. On the other hand, rakes are much cheaper than leafblowers, they don’t make any disturbing noises, and they provide more exercise, which is good for our health.
Technology is not just a hobby; it is a lifestyle. Technology allows us to do unimaginablethings such as traveling to the moon or transplanting organs. It is more like a blessing that if we know how to use it correctly we could save a lot of lives. When it comes to a simple task such ascleaning the yard, sometimes more traditional tools are more effective than using modern technologies. However, this is not always the case. One example would be a typewriter and a computer. When using atypewriter to write a paper if one messed up he or she have to start all over, but when using a computer a writer has the chance of correcting any error.
Typing on a computer has no difference thantyping on a typewriter, only in the fact that any misspelled word can be deleted, or if any information in a sentence needs to be change or if any new information needs to be added it can do it with noregressions, without having to rewrite the document.
