THE EAGLE OF THE NINTH:
1. THE FORT:
Marcus Flavius Aquila was part of the second Legion of the Roman Army and was asked to go to Britain to fight. His father was part of the ninth Legion whichwas disappeared some years before. The second Legion fought against the tribesmen for three times. Marcus was injured his leg.
2. LIFE AT UNCLE AQUILA’S
Marcus was in bed for six days. TheDurimun soldiers came to help. Commander Herpinius took command of the fort. Marcus wasn’t a soldier any more because of his leg and he went to live with his uncle Aquila. Marcus went to Saturnania Games inthe city and met an English family. They met a twelve or thirteen year old girl, with golden eyes. The slaves fought against wolves, and after, between them. One of the slaves was saved by Marcus,and his uncle bought him for Marcus. His name was Esca. He became his friend. He gave a wolf cub to Marcus.
3. COTTIA
Marcus called the wolf cub just “cub”. One day, a British girl came to Marcusgarden; she was the one he saw in the games. Her name was Cottia, but her aunt and uncle called her Camilla. She lives with her aunt Valaria because her mother gave to her when she was small. Hermother lives with a hunter. Her father died. Nissa is her nurse. 4. THE LOST EAGLE

They spoke about stories of the ninth Legion, and they think that the Eagle could be found.. They could save the honor ofthe Legion’ s name, and perhaps it could be a new ninth Legion. Marcus wanted to find the Eagle with Esca. He will be a travelling eye-doctor. Marcus gave the freedom to Esca.
