The East 43

The novel “The East 43rd Street” of Alan Battersby is a typical black novel where an ex-policeman who now is a private investigator, is involved in a plot of kidnappings, jewelleries, money andbusiness.
Our private investigator, Nathan Marley, meets a spectacular woman of this kind of story, thirty-something with long wavy blonde hair and cold blue eyes, whose origins is the poorfamily. She, Angela Lake, is married with a rich, ugly but extremely clever person and founder of Lake Software. Of course, she is source of problems for our private investigator.
Mr Nathan knowsthat she and her money are a problem but he needs this case, needs this money. Moreover, it's easy, he must pick up a briefcase with a jewel, a necklace of so great price, and he must hand overit her husband. Our main character tries to find out who is actually she, her husband and the company of her husband. And really, when Mr Nathan picks up the briefcase, he is under arrest becausehe is accused of a mugging to Angela Lake.
On the other hand, our private investigator meets Mr Lam, and Mr Lam explains that the Lakes own Mr Lam a lot of money. Mr Lam is dangerous and wantshis money. Mr Lam kidnaps to Angela Lake and he wants five million dollars in jewellery, cash or both in exchange for Angela, and Mr Nathan helps his ex-colleague of NYPD, Captain Oldenberg andhe helps in the go-between.
At the end of this story, as we know, the major figures our story has a happy ending, instead bad guys such as Mr Lam or the Lakes has a bad ending, the jail.
Insummary, when we are reading the first lines, most people can believe that we will find out some gloomy protagonists and a story, probably, will be predictable but more and more, the plot will beable to get hook you, wherefore I want to recommend “The East 43rd Street” of Alan Battersby because his story is dynamic, his vocabulary is very suitable for someone of our level of English.
