The Elephant Man

In 1.884 the doctor Frederick Traves, who was walking around the street found something in a window of a shop. When he was seeing this, saw that it was a person, a person that the people called TheElephant Man, but really he was called Joseph Merrick. When he saw it he went to visit the person. He couldn’t distinguish if it was a man or a woman because he had a beautiful hand like a woman onthe right
side, but on left side, he couldn’t distinguish if that was his hand or his foot.
On their head he had a bag of nuts. He had a dirty ragged suit.
Then the doctor tried to convinceMerrick’s boss that was called Simon Silcock, to take him to the hospital but the boss didn’t want because he was his business, the doctor gave his card to Merrick for if he want go to the hospital..Merrick, went to the hospital for see the Doctor Traves, but the next day the doctor didn’t see Merrick again, because the boss of the business take him away on tour. Merrick was abandoned in Belgium buthe came back by train and ship to London for see the Doctor.
Two years later the doctor was meeting with Merrick, the doctor was sad and he did some calls. The next day the newspaper ‘’Times’’ do atext of the Merick’s life and people gave money for Merrick.
Merrick spent much time living in the hospital. He got a friend; it was a girl that reminded his mother. The Doctor said that his diseasewas not dangerous. It was only a genetic malformation in his body.
The Queen Alexandra I heard the story and called Merrick for a visit. Merrick started to be an important person and now the peopledidn’t laugh at him, now he was called Mr. Merrick. A time after, the queen sent a letter of congratulations on his birthday to Mr. Merrick.
With the money collected from the note by the newspaper,Merrick got a house outside the city, in the forest, because he loved the forest and the silence.
One night he went to the theater, that he loved it, he loved the theater.
