1.- INTRODUCTIONEnglish is a language that owes its origins to the diversity of influences that has received and is today the main language of international communication.
Being a global language and is important its teaching and learning, this subject occupies an important place in foreign language classrooms, for this reason teachers play a vital role in the classroom environment. Interaction between teacherand students is an essential part of the teaching/learning process.
The subject in this research is Grammar Translation Method, then is discovered how works, the features that identify the techniques asociated to it, and the advantages and disadvantages using Grammar Translation Method.
Is attempted to investigate the influence of this method in the learning of students.
Is indicated whatis the General Objective and what are the Specifics. In the theoretical framework, is explained the more relevant of the method. Are elaborated the Hipothesis and finally are given the conclutions and reccomendations derived of this research.

2.- JUSTIFICATION
Speaking of how this method works is to speak about of method and features used while is taught, for this reason the role of theteacher in making the classroom climate conducive to improve learning, retain information and strengthen understanding is highly crucial.
Is expected that this research serve as a resource of information in order to determine that the most important factor in a classroom situation is the interaction between the teacher and students, verbal exchanges, asking questions, responding and reaction.3.- PROBLEM

4.1 GENERAL OBJECTIVE:
* TO IDENTIFY HOW GRAMMAR TRANSLATION METHOD WORKS IN THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE TEACHING.
4.2 SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES:
* TO ESTABLISH FEATURES AND TECHNIQUES OF GRAMMAR TRANSLATION METHOD.

* ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES OF USING GRAMMARTRANSLATIONS METHOD.

5.- THEORETICAL FRAMEWORK
5.1. CONCEPT OF TEACHING, LEARNING AND METHODS:

Teaching: Is to transmit knowledge, to form habits, or to guide, getting the learning with a minimum of effort, time and with minimum possible resources. For this reason, the teacher must have the capacity to encourage and orientate students, in order to wake up in them, the wish to know the subjet.Learning: Is a complex process that occurs within the mind of the student, it requires to use all the senses and cognitive processes such as attention, memory and understanding to respond to stimuli that lead to a change of behavior.

METHODs: They are teaching resources logically coordinated, specific procedures, set of techniques in an orderly, methodical and appropriate way, designed toorganize the management of learning. Thanks to them, can be developed the knowledge, acquired skills and incorporate with little effort. The method is what gives sense of unity to all the steps in the teaching and learning. (3).
