Stephenie Meyer
Stephenie Meyer was born in Connecticut in 1973. Her family moved to Phoenix (Arizona) when she was four years old. Her name (Stephenie instead of Stephanie) comes from herfather’s name: Stephen, he decided to add the letters "ie" to turn it into a girl's name. She went to Scottsdale's institute, Arizona, where she was rewarded with the National Prize for aSchool Merit, which was used to pay her entrance in the Brigham Young University, in Utah. She graduated in English Literature. She knew her husband Christian when she was living in Arizona and theygot married in 1994. Now they have three children.
She is known for being the authoress of the book Twilight and its sequels New Moon, Eclipse and Dawn, between others.
Meyer says thatthe idea for Twilight came to her, due to a dream she has on June 2nd, 2003, the transcription of what is now the chapter twelve in her book. After writing and editing the novel, she signed acontract of three books with the publishing house Little, Brown and Company.
Meyer was named one of MSN Lifestyle's "Most Influential Women of 2008" and was described as a "literary luminary"She was also ranked #49 on Time magazine's list of the "100 Most Influential People in 2008" what an achievement! , and was included in their list of "People Who Mattered", with Lev Grossmannoting, "Maybe Americans aren't ready for a Mormon presidential nominee yet. But they're more than ready to anoint a Mormon as the best-selling novelist of the year." As well, Meyer was includedin The Arizona Republic's "Valley's Most Fascinating People" in December 2008.
To finish, I have to say that Stephenie Meyer is my favorite writer because she’s a successful and talentedwoman. She’s smart, she doesn’t give up. She works hard to make her dreams come true and she has a special talent to write amazing stories that turns in best sellers.
