THE NIGHT WOLFS at Christmas Night

Once upon a time there was a Valley not very far from here. It was a very peaceful place but from some years ago there was a legend about it which told us therewere some nocturnal creatures, who strolled out the surrounding woods of the Valley during the night. People from the Valley lived terrified of these creatures that they called Night Wolfs. The onlything that they must do to be safe was to prevent going out when the moon could be seen at night.
The largest landed proprietor in that part was Lewis, who made his money in America and who hadreturned some years ago to the Valley. Lewis always had thought that all these stories just were stupid legends that somebody had invent to prevent the visit of foreign people of other counties. The Valleywas the most important and richly County in the Kingdom and Lewis was not a very accepted man among its population, being somewhat cold and forbidding in his manners. He lived in a castle with hiswife, Susan, and his beautiful daughter, Laura. He wasn't afraid about the Night Wolfs because his castle was a very protected place and it was far away from the woods.
"Lewis had been away from homefor three days at Newstire, and he had just returned upon the morning of Christmas Night. His wife, Susan, wasn’t at home at the time of his arrival, and he was informed by his daughter that Susan haddriven over to Saint Climent with her dog to visit her family considering that she didn’t see them from years ago. He was very annoyed and he couldn't believe it because he had forbidden his wife toget out alone from the castle anywhere.
Shortly after his return he heard the wheels of his card in the yard, and, looking out of the window, he could see that there wasn't anyone outside. Itcouldn't be possible!!
