The Princess And The Pea (Resumen)
Once upon a time there was a prince who wanted to marry a princess; but she would have to be a real princess. Theprince travelled all over the world to find one, and he found a lot of princesses, but anyone was as he wanted, there weren’t real princesses in theworld.
So he came home again very sad.
One evening a terrible storm came on; there was thunder and lightning, and the rain fell in torrents.Suddenly someone knocking the door of the castle, and the old king went to open it.
It was a princess standing out there in front of the door.The water ran down from her hair and clothes. And yet she said that she was a real princess.
The king and the queen said that she could spendthe night in the castle. And the queen went into the bedroom of the princess and she put a pea under twenty mattresses, to discover if she was areal princess. On this bed the princess had to sleep all night.
In the morning the queen was asked how she had slept, and she said that verybadly, she hasn’t closed her eyes in all night because she had felt a lump on the mattress and she hurt her back.
Now they knew that she was areal princess because she had felt the pea right through the twenty mattresses and nobody but a real princess could be as sensitive as that.
Sothe prince was married with the princess because he knew that she was a real princess; and the pea was put in the museum, where yet can be seen.
