The Raven Movie

1. In the movie “Raven”, writer Poe had to joined forces with detective Emmet Fields in search of solving murders done by a serial killer. He crafted his own works as backdrops forall his crimes and furthermore. The murders resembled Poe's works by having similar characteristics and connections linked to his stories. For example, in the movie while Fields andPoe are trying to find clues which will lead them as to where the next crime will take place, they both figure out that the next crime the serial killer will act again will be atcaptain Hamilton's Masquerade ball, which resembles one of Poe's short stories “The Masquerade of the Red Death murder”.

2. Many of Poe's works are covered in the film such as “Themurders in the Rue Morgue”, “The mystery of Marie Roget”, “ The pit and the pendulum”, “The masque of the red death”, and “The cask of amontillado”.


3. Poe uses his own powers ofdeduction to try and solve the mystery before it is too late by figuring out clues which will lead him to figuring out where the next crime will take place in accordance with his writtenworks. The killer is playing him a mind game as he realizes a note left on his door step that helps him find who can possibly be behind everything. Basically, his knowledge of hiswritings helps him find the following events linked to each other. Poe uses that power to figure out what the next crime will be and where it will occur, so that he could stop the serialkiller from murdering someone else, especially when it comes to the love of his life, Emily Hamilton, which is one of the serial killers potential victim in the movie and only he hasthe key to saving her.
