THE SPECKLED BAND
Watson was living with his friend Sherlock Holmes when a woman knocked in the door. She looked unhappy, and was thirty. she was so afraid.
She began totell her story:
-I live with my stepfather Dr Roylott. Now, his family is very rich thanks to my mother´s money.
He went to India to study to be a doctor. He met my motherwhen my sister and I were young there.
-He is a very violent man.
-My sister died two years ago she was young she met a man and she was to married him. if she had married,she would have had the money of my mother.
the night that mi sister died she asked me if I Had heard a whistle in the middle of the night? I didn´t hear this, but now yes.That night I heard strange noise so I went to Julia bedroom and the last words that she said was It was the band! The speckled band!
The police couldn´t understand why did shedead.
Holmes decided to go to her house that day but her stepfather couldn´t know this.
They went to the house and saw the rooms, Holmes saw a bell-rope over theair-vent, he pulled the rope but it not worked.
In the stepfather´s room, it was a plate of milk and a iron box where Holmes suppose that the doctor had a terrible animal.
Holmessaid to Helen she´s in danger and he is going to pass the night there.
At the middle of the night when they were in the bedroom of Helen. Holmes found out that through theventilator, which connected the two bedrooms, passed a snaked that climbed down throught the bellrope a tried to bit Helen, when it finished the snake climbed up listening thesound of the whistle. But that night Holmes attacked the snake and managed that it climbed up the bellrope and bit Doctor Roylott causing his death and avoiding Helen's death
