“The witches of Pendle”
First of all, I think it’s important to highlight that this story is based on a real fact, the Pendle witch trials, are among the most famous in English history.
The wholeprocess of the Witches of Pendle, is that some people who were charged of murder because of the use of witchcraft. The story includes some specific characters, but in this book and this time,everything is focused on Jennet Device

The story begins in the prison of the castle of Lancashire, a place where there were 20 women accused of witchcraft, they lived in a deplorable situation, with nothingto eat, in a cool and dark place. Jennet Device, begins to tell his story, when someone comes to visit her, he was the father of Pendle Hill. They began to talk about how were people at Pendle Hill,and he told her that all was well and they started to commented about their judgment to be blamed for witchcraft, he did not say so much and how time was so short, he gave her a piece of bread andleft.
Jennet came from a poor family, she was one of three children, and they used to live in Lancashire Village.
The story goes back years ago, when Jennet was walking with his sister Alizon lookingfor some bread, when a pedlar refused to give Alizon some money, she cursed him, and he started to fell ill. That’s how the outcome of this story begins. After that Alizon was sent to prison, andJennet and his grandmother fell in suspicion and were send to prison too. Some days later, her mom took Jennet and his grandmother free. However Jennet was so angry because of the mistreatment, so shedecided to tell everything she knew. Jennet, and her brother James went to Mr. Nowel’s place, to tell everything; he was a very important judge, who was kind to her.
So now, Jennet’s mother, James andAlizon were all hanged as witches, as a result both of Jennet's testimony and of their own statements
