Walter Hartright- He is a young art teacher. He goes to Limmeridge House to teach art to the owner´s nieces. He falls in love with one of them, Laura Fairlie. LauraFairlie- She´s a beautiful youngwoman who will inherit a lot of money. She loves Walter but he has to marry an evil man Sir Percival Glide. Mariana Halcombe- Laura´s half sister. Her father was Mrs Fairlie´s first husband. AnneCatherick- The woman in white. She was put in an asylum by Sir Percival Glyde because she knows a secret about him. she looks exactly like Laura Fairlie. Perhaps Mr Fairlie was her father too.FrederickFairlie- He´s Laura´s uncle. He is supposed to take care of Laura and Mariana, but he´s ill and never leaves his room. Mr Gilmore- Mr Fairlie´s solicitor. Sir Percival Glyde- He is an evil man. He marriesLaura but he doesn´t love her. He only wants her money. He´s a baronet but his parents were not married. Count Fosco- An italian man. His wife is Laura´s aunt. If Laura dies, she will inherit a lotof money. Count Fosco owes a lot of money and helps sir Percival to get rid of Laura. Countes Fosco- Laura´s aunt. An ambitious woman. Mrs Catherick- Anne Catherick´s mother. A cold woman who didn´tcare much about her daughter. Proffesor Pesca- Walter Hartight´s friend. He is in debt with Walter because he once saved his life. He helps Walter to make Fosco confess. Hester Pinhorn- Count Fosco´scook. She tells part of the story. Mrs- Wesley- Anne Catherick´s friend. She looked after Anne when she was a little girl.
