THE YOUTH
What problems is the youth facing? Well, to talk about the numerous problems that are taking control over teenagers would take a lot of time, but, in this essay I will try to focus on those which are the most important from my point of view.
It is said that the most important stage of a person’s life is the youth, young people are supposed to be instructed to face any kind ofsituations the best way possible in order to take responsibilities for their own acts and have the intellectual ability to solve the various problems that life brings to everyone every day. But what happens when this is not the case? Nowadays we are watching a generation of teenagers that are pretty different from what they used to be in old days, when you analyze a teenager from the latest generations,you will realize that they have a very different way of thinking and an extremely underrated point of view of life expectancy, you can see how irresponsible they are, young people don’t take responsibility of their actions anymore, they tend to excuse everything they do to another cause that’s its not them in order to get out of a problem or difficult situation. Our youth it influenced by a bunchof things other generations weren’t exposed to, for example drugs, alcohol, or even TV shows.
Young people show a lack of everything involving their lives, they show a lack of respect to any major authority or higher command, this I think, given the situation that TV and adds have influenced them since they were toddlers. We could worry about the lack of respect, even though we have a much biggerproblem, the lack of interest on everything they experience, we are going through maybe the most skeptical generation of all times, they don’t care about anything but videogames, fun, partying, or relationships. I´m not saying caring about all those things is wrong, we all need a time for our own, but as much as we need that time for our own, we need to balance everything in life, all dead endsare bad for any person.
I think one of the biggest causes of these serious problems, is the education that young people are given at home, for example, if a boy doesn’t have the figure of authority at home, he wont recognize any form of authority outside it. With this, I intend to explain that young people need from their parents to teach them all of the values of life, every single one of them,from respect to cleanness, if a young person doesn’t have all of these values taught at home, how can we expect these young ones to practice them on the outside world? Many people blame the government, tv shows or drugs for all of the youth problems, which like I mentioned before are serious problems, but then again, how is the youth supposed to know how to be if they don’t have anyone to tell themor anyone to look up to? Young people are like clay, we can mold them into everything we want them to be, so, if there is anyone to blame about all these problems, is us. We need to support them and open their eyes so that they can know how to react and start making criteria of their own, but not criteria like the one we are seeing in the new generation of youth, a criteria showingresponsibility, and all those little values, that can make a great difference. Once we can teach our youth all those values at home, then we can proceed to the school education, which will give them the necessary tools they need to succeed in their lives.
Nowadays, our youth has a very strange way of thinking, they have an excuse for everything, so nothing is really their responsibility, they don’t have anykind of priorities in life, they live with a ¨forever young¨ or ¨one day at a time¨ attitude, we are facing a ¨know it all generation¨, given the fact that Internet makes young people think they don’t need any kind of teaching because they can know anything they want, that is, just one click away from them.
