Created in 1998 by Jared Leto (vocals, guitar), and his brother Shannon (drums), "30 Seconds to Mars began as a small family project. Thingsstarted to work fairly quickly, Matt Wachter soon joined the band as bassist. Although Jared Leto is a well-known Hollywood actor, he prefers not to use that informationto promote the band, in fact, the group refused to play in places where you use your name as an actor to promote the show. The first album "30 Seconds to Mars, "titled, produced by Bob Ezrin, was released in 2002 with good reviews, but only achieved sales of just over 100,000 copies. On January 29, 2003, Tomislav Milicevic won anaudition to be the next guitarist for 30 seconds to mars. The band's second album, "A Beautiful Lie, was released on August 30, 2005. For this project, the band toured forover three years to four different continents, including five different countries, improving their sound and also taking into account the career of actor Jared. Thealbum was produced by Josh Abraham, whose producing credits also include groups such as Orgy, Velvet Revolver, and Linkin Park. Because A Beautiful Lie was leaked fivemonths before its release, the band decided to include two bonus tracks: "Battle of One" (an original song had been chosen to be the album's title track when it wasannounced by first time) and "Hunter" (a cover of Björk). To further promote the album, the band also enclosed "golden passes" (golden pass) in a limited number of copies,which gave tickets to any concert of "30 Seconds to Mars" for free, accessible after racks.
