To kill a mockingbird
A charge him Atticus defending a black-skinned man named Tom Robinson, accused of raping a young white woman named Mayella Ewell. Although many of the people of Maycombdisagree, Atticus agrees to defend Tom in the best way possible. Other kids make fun of Jem and Scout because Atticus takes the position, and call it "black lover." Although his father warned him not to,Scout is tempted to defend the honor of his father through a fight. Atticus, on the other hand, must face an attempt by a group of men who want to lynch Tom. Scout, Jem and Dill manage to thwart thisthreat when they appear on the scene and manage to disperse the mob to make them understand the situation from the point of view of Atticus and Tom.
Because Atticus does not want the children towitness the trial of Tom Robinson, Scout, Jem and Dill watch him in secret from a balcony. Atticus can prove that both Mayella like her father Bob Ewell, the town drunk, lie about their charges. Also...
