RESUMEN
La investigación estuvo orientada a determinar
las posibilidades de la lectura en la sociedad
del conocimiento, y la información; y el papel
que, en este contexto, ella desempeñaría, en
la formación delos futuros docentes. Para su
desarrollo se utilizó una metodología cualitativa
apoyada en la aplicación de entrevistas a
un grupo de facilitadores de la Universidad
Pedagógica Experimental Libertador, Instituto
de Mejoramiento Profesional del Magisterio.
En la misma, destacan como resultados más
relevantes, los siguientes: a) en la referida
sociedad, la lectura seguirá teniendo un papelfundamental para acceder al conocimiento, y
b) con miras a vivir en ésta, es indispensable
instruir a los futuros maestros no sólo en el
manejo de tecnología, sino también en el área
de la lectura. Situación que, podría justificar el
asumir la lectura como herramienta didáctica
en el proceso formativo impartido por estas
instituciones en las cuales se fragua el docente
nuevo.

ABSTRACT
The investigation was guided to determine the
possibilities of the reading in the society of the
knowledge, and the information; and the paper
that, in this context, she would carry out, in theformation of the educational futures. For their
development a qualitative methodology was
used supported in the application of interviews
to a group of facilitators of the University
Pedagogic Experimental Liberator, Institute
of Professional Improvement of the Teaching.
In the same one, they highlight as more
outstanding results, the following ones: to) in
the referred society, the readingwill continue
having a fundamental paper to consent to the
knowledge, and b) with an eye toward living
in this, it is indispensable to not only instruct
the future teachers in the technology handling,
but also in the area of the reading. Situation
that, it could justify assuming the reading like
didactic tool in the formative process imparted
by these institutions in which the educationalone is forged new.

the knowledge.
