Tom Ford

Thomas Carlyle "Tom" Ford, is an American fashion designer and film director, he was born August 27, 1961 in Austin, Texas. He lived with his parents, Tom Ford and Shirley Burton in thesuburbs of Houston, Texas. Then his family moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico, whenhe was eleven years old. He entered in St. Michael´s High School and in 1979 he graduated. Tom Left Santa Fe when he wasseventeen and he moved to New York to study art history at New York University.
In New York he found his vocation, fashion. Ford then began studying interior architecture at The New School´s famous artand design collage, Parsons The New School for Design.
Tom decided to move Paris where he studied the fashion´s World and then he traveled to Milan and there he began to work for Gucci. Ford wasresponsable of saved the company.
He was designing menswear for six months, and shoes soon alter that. When Richard Lambertson left as fashion director in 1992, Ford began with his position and he wasbetterfashion director than Richard Lmabretson. In 1993, when he was in charge of designing eleven product lines, Ford worked eighteen hours a day.

During these years, there were creative tensionsbetween Ford and Maurizio Gucci, the company´s president and 50% owner.
Ford´s work during the early 1990s was primrily behind the scenes; his contributions to Gucci were covered by Mello, who wasthe company´s public face, but Tom Ford always has been considereted the best director of Gucci.
In April 2005, Ford did his owm brand, `Tom Ford´. He is designing optical frames and sunglasses aswell asan Alliance with Esteé Lauder to create the Tom Ford Beauty brand. Tom is doing his fragantes Collection too.
Now Tom Ford is dressing many of Hollywood´s leading men like Brad Pitt, ColinFirth, Tom Hanks or Bradley Cooper. Also Ford has been doing a wedding dress to Lara Stone.
