Tomatina

La fiesta de “la tomatina” se realiza cada año en el municipio Valenciano de Buñol en España y consiste en que los participantes se lanzan tomates los unos a los otros.
El origen de estafiesta ocurrió en agosto de 1945 durante un desfile de gigantes cabezudo cuando unos jóvenes causaron un altercado al votar a uno de los participantes, que lleno de ira vio un puesto de verdura ycomenzó a lanzar tomates y las otra personas respondieron, la batalla vegetal fue resuelta por las fuerzas de orden publico.
Esto sucedió los años siguiente, pero de forma voluntaria, y cadaparticipante llevaba sus propios tomates de sus casas. A través del tiempo esta fiesta se fue modificando, algunos años se prohibió, pero luego se volvería a permitir.
Fue en el año 1980 cuandoel ayuntamiento se hizo cargo de esta festividad llevando ellos los tomates y no los participantes.
Esta fiesta se comenzó a hacerse conocida en el resto de España cuando se mostró unreportaje emitido en el programa de Televisión Española Informe semanal.
