Tourism in Colima: an opportunity to stop the local poverty
The tourism in Mexico is an activity that has a wide world of variety about places and their history, the culture and the huge gastronomythat is a characteristic that for itself attract a lot of stranger tourists. Colima is not the exception with his volcanoes and the beaches which are just an example of natural places. The Colimastate has a great advantage considering the territory, because you can visit the mountain with its fresh weather and particular flora and fauna, and then in a bit more than hour trip by car you will be inthe beach enjoying the warm weather but with the wind full of sea breeze and a delicious seafood dish.
This activity is a clear opportunity for local people to being self-employed. In fact, theeconomic flow shows how tourism has helped to the stability of economy.

This table shows just the part of incomes, but the substantial component is the employment that Tourism can generate to the local people. With informationprovided trough a work made by Economy Students, says that in 2008 there were more than nine thousand people that have a job in hospitality business and food & beverages establishments, and givingapproximated 17.5% of the GDP, which in currency value ascends at $1’618,813.87 of course as I said, only considering the employment incomes to the local people. As and ascendant activity in Colima, couldnot be so hard to imagine the updated numbers of each economic indicator.
