Job Information

Ritual is seeking a qualified Coffee Bar Manager to join our team. The Manager oversees and
manages all aspects of the coffee bar at 1026 Valencia in accordance with the vision and mission
of Ritual CoffeeRoasters. The Manager works directly with and reports to the Retail Operations
Director. In addition to managing café operations, the Manager will play an active role in the
café remodel to be completed in 2013, alongside the Retail Operations Director and the Owner.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assume responsibility for all aspects of the coffee bar
• Be capable of completing all daily operationsof the coffee bar
• Oversee all café employees, including: hiring and terminations, performance and pay
reviews, job descriptions and responsibilities, training and continuing education,
discipline and commendation
• Management of front of house: customer service, preparation and presentation of
beverages and information, operational procedures, merchandising
• Management of back of houseoperations: payroll, scheduling, ordering, and sales and
profitability
• Serve as an integral part of the team for café remodel: contribute ideas as far as
operational flow, design insights, monitor progress, oversee ordering/receiving of project
materials, furniture, fixtures, equipment, etc.
• Maintain effective café operations during build-out phase
• Be “on-call” with the responsibility torespond to problems or fill-in when needed
• Cultivate a professional, friendly, efficient work environment
• Lead periodic staff meetings
• Communicate with other relevant departments including the Roastery staff, the Trainer,
Director of Retail Operations, and the Owner.

Additional responsibilities include:
• Proactively train staff to maintain and uphold all company and café policies• Work in conjunction with Director of Retail Operations to develop and execute
comprehensive customer service program
• Actively work toward creating a superlative café experience through: customer service,
beverage preparation and presentation, in-store marketing, and upkeep of the physical
space
• Ensure all projects and responsibilities are completed in a timely, efficient manner
• Workhand-in-hand with the Trainer to ensure staff is knowledgeable about all of our
offerings
• Banking and accounting: going to the bank, making sure the café always has change,
timely data-entry of sales figures
• Handle customer complaints with professionalism and tact
• Schedule: create the schedule, manage time off requests, ensure the coffee bar is properly
staffed
• Proactively solveproblems and make decisions that benefit the café and company at large
