It was born around the 50s in America. It combines elements of gospel and R & B. although it says that its origin is American, this style of music and went back years ago, emerged in the African American community through the transmutation of gospel and R & B in a form of funky, secularstatement. The catchy rhythms, punctuated by clapping and body movements out of time, are an important element of the Soul.
