Civil Rights Movement

The civil right movement was a worldwide political. The civil rightsmovement in the United States includes legislation and organized efforts to abolish public and private acts of racial discrimination African Americans particularly in the southern United States, also therewere three main aspects one was the racial segregation this is when humans are separate into racial groups. Segregation itself is defined by the European Commission against Racism and Intolerance.African Americans quickly set up congregations for themselves, as well as schools, community and civic associations. Most African Americans followed Jim Crow, using a mask of compliance to preventbecoming victims of racially motivated violence. In the last decade of the 19th century, racially discriminatory laws and racial violence aimed at African Americans. White Americans believed blacks werecontent with their social and economic conditions. Black Americans had learned again and again, year after year, that the definition of "freedom" depended upon many things. White supremacy in the regionstill depended largely upon the suppression of black ambition, and white southerners used economic reprisals, terror, and ritual lynching to prevent blacks from voting, owning property, and expressingany desire to challenge the tradition of segregation. Labor demands created by World War I opened up new well-paid positions for blacks in northern industry. But despite black commitment to the wareffort, the nation's atmosphere of racial intolerance remained stifling as whites in both the North and the South feared black competition for economic and educational opportunities.  Also somethingvery important was this man Martin Luther King, was a main figures in the Civil Rights Movement.
