• What is Army Career Tracker (ACT)? The Army Career Tracker planned for
launch in 2011, is a web-based career management tool that will integratetraining, assignment history, and formal/informal education paths. The Army Career Tracker will enable Soldiers and Civilians to holistically manage their career and allow leaders to mentor, counsel, andplan for the development of their subordinates. It will consolidate training, education and assignment data relevant to position and career level. Secretary of the Army has declared FY2009 as the “Yearof the NCO”

Why is this important to the Army? The ACT portal will initially provide Enlisted Soldiers (Officers andCivilians will be added in the near future) a current view of their integrated career transcript. To provide this transcript, the Army Career Tracker portal will link with many other Army systems thathouse information on assignments, training and education. The ACT will also support the current initiative to award college credits for Army training, in conjunction with partners in the highereducation, by providing a cross walk of Army training to higher education credits.
Functionalities and features: will include ability to receive career related information and recommendations from leadersand to execute development related activities from a single launch point. The portal will also provide efficient mechanisms for registering for courses, requesting assignments, and trackingcompletion of requirements to support their career advancement. The ACT web site will allow Soldiers to plan their career track. Leaders will also be able to monitor their Soldiers' progress to help developthem into successful NCOs.
