Movie Report:
Title: Freedom Writers
Part I Setting:
• Woodrow Wilson High School – There was a school where there was violence and racial discrimination among students. Mrs. Gruwell work with agroup of students and achievement that they will change their way of thinking and living.
• Long Beach CA - Is a place where a new war is waged with each passing day.
Part II Characters:
• Mrs. ErinGruwell – A white young committed teacher that worked hard for her students. She teaches Freshmen English at Woodrow Wilson High School.
• Eva Benitez – A Mexican American girl, a Cambodiansrefugee. Eva was a young rebel at the imprisonment of her father.
• Scott Casey – Erin husband is jealous and never be in accordance with her multiples jobs.
• Steve Gruwell – Was a white old men whoalways supporting her daughter Erin.
• The Students – They are a people with a lot of racial, violence and gang problems in their life. At the classroom are different racial some blacks, white,Cambodians and Hispanics.
Part III Problems:
• Racism – The Latinos hate the Cambodians who hate the blacks, and so on.
• Violence – Most of the student had been victims of violence in their home andcommunity.
• Discrimination - At school there was racial discrimination among students and teachers.
• Gangs - Many of students were part of the gang and lived in rebellion. Others had lost friends andfamily because of the war between gangs.
• Lack of education - Students understood that it was not necessary that they be educated by what was needed to survive at such violence around.


Part VIPlot:
It’s 1994 in Long Beach, California. A teacher called Erin Gruwell is just starting her first job as a freshman and sophomore English teacher at Woodrow Wilson High School, which, two yearsearlier, implemented a voluntary program.
