Use
The first conditional is used to express as possible condition and a probable result in the future. English uses apresent tense in the conditional (if) clause, but future form in the result clause.

Second conditional
Form
If + past simple, would + infinite without to.

Would is a modalauxiliary verb.
The forms of would are the same for all persons.

This second conditional refers to actions that will be true in the future,
only if another action or situation in the futurehappens.

We use the second conditional for situations in the present future. We don’t expect to happen.

Firstconditional

1.- We don’t usually use will in the condition (if) clause.
If it rains.. NOT if it will rain..

2.-The condition clause if.. can come at the beginning of the sentence or at the end.
IfI work hard, I’ll pass the test.
I’ll pass the test if I work hard.

Second conditional

1.-The condition clause can come at the beginning or the end of the sentence.
If I had more time, I’dhelp.
I’d help if had more time.

2.- Were can be used instead of was in the condition clause.
If I were you, I’d go to bed.
If he were here, he’d know what to do.

-Examples-

Affirmative:-If I had a car, I’d (would) get home -faster.
-If I had millions dollars, I'd give a lot to charity.
-If I lived in Japan, I’d have sushi everyday.

Negative:
-If we didn´t work , we wouldn´thave money.
-You wouldn’t be smiling if you knew the truth.
-If he didn’t live by the river, he couldn’t go fishing.

Questions:
-If you had a $1000, what would you buy?
-What would you do if...
