Una Carrera En Film
When considering a career field individuals generally focus on standard benefits, such as yearly income, benefits, stability of the industry, chances ofemployment etc. While these things are imperative for a steady future I wanted to explore an industry that reflects my personality more then any of the benefits it could offer. Thus, a career as afilmmaker is what I’ve always dreamed of. My passion for films is enough to keep me set on my career choice. After doing some research on the subject it has been become more then evident that I’ve made theright choice and that I’m walking down the correct career path.
Filmmaking as a career carries with it many different facets. It’s a very broad and general field. A Filmmakers presence it’srequired from the minute a script is acquired to post-production premier day. Some of the responsibilities of a filmmaker include, obtaining scripts, getting funding (finding sponsors and investors), hiringactors, setting deadlines, administrating the projects budget, negotiating locations to film, among other things. In essence filmmakers are the producers of the picture. One of the most importantthing to know about the industry is that while education may be helpful it is not as necessary as say your drive, ethics and creativity which are things I’m well equipped with. Most firms don’t requiremore then a two years degree. What I do lack is knowledge in the technical area as well as hands on experience, these are very important in order to succeed in this very competitive field.
The idealinternship would be one as a producer assistant, perhaps at the Mayor’s office, or any other production house. To know and witness one on one what a day in a producers shoes is like, this way I cangain the hands on experience I feel I lack. The problem I’m facing with that is that most of the internships available are offered during day time hours and required that they’d be none pay. A paid...
