THE HISTORY OF THE ROLLER COASTER

INTRODUCCION:
The history of the roller coaster is an amazing story. Who would have thought that the ice in Russia today wouldcreate a diversion for people around the world? Since the mountain first opened its only intention was to let people forget about everything in life and just enjoy "letting go" for a couple ofminutes. It is surprising that these rides have affected so many people in so many ways. Every time I ride a roller coaster, it gives me the same feeling I felt during my first experience. I hope totransmit a hint of that feeling through my presentation.
EL COMIENZO:
It goes back to the ice slides constructed in 15th century Russia. The Russians enjoyed sledding down steep hills, these sledswere later adapted for use also in the summer by the added of wheels. The world has been "slipping" ever since, and that’s how the roller coaster began. This is a picture of the first roller coasterever made, The Aerial Walk, located in France.
PRIMEROS ANOS EN AMERICA:
In America it all started when people began to go to the fair to ride the rides and havefun. With the try-out immigration to big cities, people no longer wanted to perform common activities of a village fair. So to the citizens, pleasure parks began to be a place of recreation. The real inspiration for the theme parks beganwith the World's Columbian Exposition in Chicago in 1893.
HOY EN DIA:
The parks are bent on the construction of roller coasters, promising "the biggest mountain of wood," "the largest steel","the longest fall," "the mountains in the dark", etc.. Parks also understand that today, a percentage of the population is aging and, this percentage means less danger and less speed and hastransformed the entertainment industry we see today: first for young people: high speed roller coasters ,hard falls, etc, and on the other hand, for more mature people: slow tracks, recreational areas,...
