“I THINK THERE IS TOO MUCH VIOLENCE IN MOVIES”
GIVE SPECIF REASONS AND EXAMPLES TO SUPPORT YOUR RESPONSE.
I truly consider cinemato be the seventh art because of its creative process; moreover I believe that movies have an important social function because of the entertainment that they provide to the masses. However, in thelast years, it is notable that the movie´s industry has developed a huge content of violence that has contributed to desvirtuate its inicial vision, so I firmly agree with the statement.
I thinkthat this change in the industry of movies doesn´t belong to a single director or to a single country; this phenomenon has spread itself all over the world. We can find thousands of examples of this.“Irrevérsible”, for instance, is one of the most violent things I have ever seen. It is a French movie which relates the history of a men seeking for revenge. He commits himself to the search of hiswife´s rapist. The most particular thing about this movie, is that it has a scene in which the director shows a 20 minute´s sexual abuse; moreover, it occurs in real time. In my opinion, the moviecontains a great amount of morbidity and I really don´t understand how people can appreciate that. In this case, I believe that the director has choosen to sell blood over to deliver a meaninfull experienceto the people.
On the other hand, I am aware that if these kind of movies exist is not because of the single desire or likes of the director; if no one liked them, there wouldn´t be a market forthem and, consequently, its production would stop. So I believe that they are made because there is a huge demand of these kinds of products; in other words, it is the society who ask for them. Andthat is, for me, the main problem.
I think that the urge for these kinds of movies derives from the events in real life; people is so accustomed to violence in daily life, that they start to see...
