1.- They stayed together until 1948, when she started to collect Chilean folk songs from the people everywhere.
2.- In 1967, during a big depression shehad, she decided to finish her life with a shotgun.
3.- When she was twelve, she started writing verses and songs with her nine brothers.
4.- Violeta Parrawas born in 1917, in San Carlos, Seventh Region of Chile. Her father was a Primary Teacher and his mother, an artisan.
5.- In 1937, she got married with LuisCereceda, a railway worker. They had two children, Isabel and Angel.
6.- The famous Louvre Museum in Paris, presented in 1964 her paintings, and art workmade with wire and sackcloth (arpillera).
7.- In 1961, she travelled to Europe again, and participated in many festivals, make some records.
8.- In 1954,she won the Caupolican Prize, as the best Folk singer of the year.
9.- Today, Violeta Parra is one of the most well known Folk singers of South America.Artists from all over the world had sung her songs.
10.- After this Prize, she travelled to Europe, and stayed there for 4 years.
