War video games
War games have been played through centuries. An ancient surviving war game is Chess. A war game is often a physical or electronic simulation of a militaryoperation. It involves two or more forces, using rules, data and procedures, designed to depict an actual or assumed situation. Since the widespread of Computers, war games have been computerized in aunique form of video entertainment. Playing war video games provide a forum for learning and practicing aggressive solutions to conflict situations. Ironically these days, war video games are ones mostplayed.
Children are spending increasing amount of time playing video games. The American Psychological Association (APA) in Washington, DC reported that violent video games are significantlyassociated with increased aggressive behavior, thoughts and decreased social skills. Furthermore, playing violent games is making children being less willing to care, and be helpful toward theirpeers. Children also engaged in more aggressive delinquent behavior.
In war video games, children see characters getting killed. They could even see the characters blood exploding from theirchest and other violent scenes. You can observe that through these games children learn to “kill to survive”.
Playing video games may not be the innocent activity that parents think it is.Parents play an important role in limiting the time and type of games that their children should play. They should monitor their children’s video games play and promote less violent video games. Alsolook for outdoor activities or sports, to entertain their kids.
So, we will learn to be aggressive towards conflict by playing war video games. It has been researched and proved by importantagencies. Parents could help prevent the hostile environment that we are living nowadays by getting in control, and we will begin to live a more peaceful life.
