Photography is more than just a simple way to preserve memories. It has evolved, in a way that today is considered one of the most beautiful cotemporary arts.Photography is more than pressing a button. It involves capturing the perfect moment, at the perfect time, with the perfect conditions; however, behind all the techniques we handle, behind this artis long history.
The first record about a camera occurred in 1521, whith the first publication of the Dark Camera, written by Cesare Cesariano, a Leonardo’s student. Much later, Thomas Wedgood, madethe last discoveries in the process of capturing images; sadly he did not succeed. Later on, on 1816 the French scientist Nicéphore Nieps obtained the first photographic images. In 1861 the physicistJames Clerk Maxwell captured the first photograph in color in 1861. After some time, in 1975, Kodak developed the first digital camera, but it was not until 1991, that a digital camera was introducedino the market. In 1997, the first cameras that captured images with a resolution of 1 megapixel were sold. There are some basic concepts you must know about photography. The word “Photography” comes from a Greek word that means : “Paint withlight”. This term is no applied literally, because if there is no light, there is no photography. Another very important aspect about how photography works is to understand the mechanism of a camera. In acamera there are 2 main components, the aperture and the shutter. The aperture controls the quantity of light entering the camera, and the shutter controls for how long the sensor is exposed to thelight, this is known as shutter velocity.
