The title of the play is a parody of the song “Who’s Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf?” from Disney’s version of Threelittle Pigs. The song symbolizes the plot of the play: who is afraid of reality? what do you prefer, living in a reality you do not accept or living in yourillusions?. Just with the title, this well chosen song, the plot is summarized.
Through the relation of the two main characters, the author puts in evidence the relationbetween illusion and reality, between lies and truth. The private illusions of the individuals, the lie which interfere with our existence in this world and thedespair reality are connected.

When you start reading this play, you feel that you can not stop reading, there is a tension during the whole work that keeps youhanged to the reading. The author, Albee, has his own language; I was very taken with this language, sometimes it is shocking because of the use of bad words, but themost important thing is that this language hides a big truth: through the language, we understand how human beings tend to self-destruction. Thanks to the form of a playand because of the quick interaction of the characters, the reader goes faster in reading.

It is worth mentioning that the humour is used in a very particularway. Through the humour Albee achieves that the audiences and the readers feels the outrage of daily life.

In short, we can say that the way in which Albeeshow the topic, his style, his technique, the humour, does not correspond to the pessimistic condemnation he makes to the lack of human, social and moral responsibility.
