Why should I defend the faith?
There are some reasons for why we should and have to defend our faith. First of all, because he command is to do it. We cansee it very explicitly in 1 Peter 3:15, when it says that “always” and this is not an option or something that maybe can happened, it says always. “Beingprepared,” this means that we have to believe what we are defending, that just came through studying the Bible and memorized. “To make a defense to anyone who asksyou for a reason for the hope that is in you” this fact is essentially in the life of Christianity.
Second, it’s important to defend our faith because by thatway we can transmit the evangelism to other people. In 2 Timothy 4:24-25 God says that the Lord’s servant must, and he have to see that this isn’t an option,must not be quarrelsome but… Correcting his opponents with gentleness, so God may perhaps grant them repentance leading to knowledge of the truth. So, he has aresponsibility reason it isn’t to contender because God in his grace can use you as a way to get to their sons; this is not about us and what we want, thedefense of the faith is something that will be in their sons because of the mercy that was given to us and that same grace we are commanded to share with the onesthat are in our surroundings.
The third, and most important, we have to defend our faith because this will glorify our God. This is our purpose in this life,as God says “Everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made” Isa 43:7. We have no excuses for not defend our faith.
