Introduction
Welcome to Jarte, the word processor that wraps a fresh face and new power around the trusted WordPad word processing engine. Here are a few quick tips to help youmake the most of Jarte right away...
Button Labels
Although Jarte's unique menu driven interface will quickly feel familiar, you can turn on button labels by checking the Button Labels check box in theOptions button menu (2nd button from the right). You can also find information about Jarte's buttons and layouts at the layouts[->0] help page.
Clickless Operation
You will notice that simplystopping the mouse over a button displays its menu, and stopping the mouse over a document tab switches to that document. Jarte's clickless operation greatly reduces mouse clicks. However, the full powerof this feature is not turned on by default. Try the other Clickless Operation settings[->1] in the Options button menu to discover the freedom of clickless word processing.
Main Menu
By default,Jarte's main menu bar is hidden since it is redundant with Jarte's menu driven interface. However, you can display the main menu by turning on Show Main Menu in the View button's menu (1st of the 4 topmiddle buttons).
Status Bar
The status indicators in Jarte's status bar[->2] are also buttons that control a number of Jarte's features. Of particular interest is the unsaved changes indicatorwhich saves the document when clicked (the indicator can also be made clickless via Jarte's clickless operation settings).

Jarte Plus
Although the free edition of Jarte is a complete word processor, you will enjoy the added conveniencefeatures offered in Jarte Plus[->5] if you do a lot of word processing. You will also enjoy the good feeling that comes from helping to support a great word processor.
