XPE USB reflash Procedure using Acronis True Image Home v.11

(XPE 8050 only)

Important: This procedure is for 8050 XPE units only. Performing this procedure on safebook, (Laptop) or 8020/8030XPE models will render them unbootable.

First: Download XPE120707V3.tib file from our FTP site.

FTP Instructions:

Using a web browser visit ftp://mx2.devonit.com/

When prompted for passwordplease enter the following information.

Username: xpeuser

Password: a1b2c3d4

Directory: 8050C/AcronisImage/

File: XPE120707V3.tib



Next:

If you haven’t already: InstallAcronis True Image Software (Version used for this implementation was Acronis True Image Home v.11)

Note: Devon IT does not supply Acronis Software.

1. Using at least a 1 GB flash drive, format thedrive using the windows format utility, format to FAT (Fat16) or (FAT 32)

2. Start Acronis application and choose Disk Utilities from the main menu.

3. Select “Create Bootable Rescue Media” fromthe tools section at the top of the left hand column.

4. Click “Next” on the “Welcome to Acronis Media Builder” screen.

5. Deselect Acronis Drive Cleanser and select next.

6. Select “Next” onthe Bootable Media Options screen.

7. Choose the location of your USB device and select next.

8. Select “Proceed” to create bootable USB flash device.

9. The program will automatically beloaded to the USB device.

10. Once completed, choose “OK” in the Information Window.

11. Exit Acronis True image and manually put the TEST120707.tib file onto your USB device.

12. The USB mediais now ready to reflash the terminal.

13. Place the USB device into your terminal and power on.

14. Press F11 at the first splash screen to select boot device.

15. Press Enter to accept thehard disk option.

16. Choose USB-HDD0:USB Flash Disk and press enter.

17. Acronis Loader will now start.

18. When the interface loads select “Recovery”.

19. Select “Next” on the...
