Level 4 Oral Test
Instructions: Students will present themselves for the test in pairs. Each pair should present for 10-12 minutes (5-7 minutes each person). There are two activities that should becompleted by all students. The first activity is solely pair work. In the second activity, the professor should ask three or four different questions from the list to each student, trying to coverdifferent areas (i.e. don’t ask about more than one topic from any specific Market Leader Unit). The professor may want to ask follow up questions to encourage more in depth analysis. Most of thequestions are individual, but a couple requires the interaction between both students. If the questions are individual, the teacher won’t ask the same question to each student.

Activity 1:
Select 2 ofthe following role play conversations. They should be expanded upon by the students, maintaining a two-way dialogue. Conditional forms must be correctly used in questions 1 in both making the questionand the answer.

1. Person A. Ask your partner what he/she would do if they found out a classmate had cheated on a test. Why?
Person B: Ask your partner what he/she would do if he/she were offered awell paying job that required relocating to Bolivia. Why?

2. Person A: I am furious. I can’t believe I didn’t get the promotion. I’m going to quit!
Person B: Calm person A down.
Then switchstudents.
Person A: The Company wants to fire 10 staff. I think we should cut staff salaries instead.
Person B: Propose some kind of compromise or suggestion.

3. You are planning an end of semesterparty for your English course. Discuss Plans:
a. Location
b. Who to invite
c. How to pay for it

4. Ask each other questions about what you have done before coming for the test. Use timeconnectors to connect your descriptions: when, then, after that, etc.
