Ref.: General Agency services for Mexico
Dear Mr. Wu
We thank you for the opportunity to present ourselves, with the intent to offer a highly professional service relationship with your esteemed company.
Wespecialize in Ship Agency business in mexico with over 115 years of experience in all trades and marine operations in mexico. During those years we have built a very solid organization within our company; of which we would like togive you further information below.
In our company we believe that the only way to uniform and standardize a high quality agency service at each Mexican sea port, is by having adedicated “one point of entry – 24 hour service”, reason why our Management through or head office in Mexico City, controls and supervises each individual vessel/Container operation from here, jointly with the port in question. To do this, we have our own net of offices and resources. Should you have one or more vessels/containers operating simultaneously in Mexico, you will always have theadvantage of speaking to one point of entry. We would like to start by sending you a brief presentation of our company and of our services as we have many years of experience attending the maritime industry in our country.

COMPANY HISTORY
Hamburg Amerika Linie is known to have initially called at the port of Veracruz, Mexico in the year of 1879 with the vessel “Lothringia”,establishing a mail, cargo and passenger service between the port of Hamburg, Germany, Cuba and Mexico. Ricardo Eversbusch Beckmann was born in Hamburg, Germany, the 21st of July 1878. He initiated his professional activity in liner shipping in thelate 1890s, working for the Hamburg Amerika Linie. By the end of the century, young Mr. Eversbusch was transferred to the New York port terminals, where he was responsible for tendering the transatlantic passenger vessels of the Hamburg Amerika Linie. In 1900, he was again transferred, this time to Veracruz, Mexico to incorporate himself on behalf of the Hamburg Amerika Linie into the Ship Agencyof Guillermo Buessing y Compañía of which he later became a partner. By 1908 he moved to Tampico, Mexico, to re-enforce the Ship Agency there and in conjunction with Mr. Karl Heynen representative of Hamburg Amerika Linie in Tampico and Messrs. Christlieb y Ruebcke, the passenger sales Agents in Mexico City, founded Agencia Comercial y Marítima, Heynen, Eversbusch y Cia. Whilst in Tampico, hebecame a founding member of the Tampico Chamber of Commerce. The Mexican revolution of 1910 to 1918, as well as the First World War brought shipping and trading activities to a stand still. In the early 1920s the regular liner service of the Hamburg Amerika Linie was re-activated and later on strengthened with the presence of the Norddeutscher Lloyd. They operated a service from Europe to the USAports in the Gulf of Mexico and consequently expanded it into Mexican East Coast ports, also to the West Coast of Mexico. Notwithstanding the late 1920s Depression, trade between Europe and Mexico increased rapidly to unseen levels, peaking at the height of the Second World War when the service was interrupted. During his 50 years of shipping activity for the Hamburg Amerika Linie and the...
