Objective:
How do various substances interact with each other?

Safety:
Wash spills immediately with cold water. Phenolphthalein isflammable and immediately toxic. Sulfuric acid is immediately toxic and corrosive. Check the stock containers at the front of the room for the other chemical hazards.

Materials:Googles
Test tube
Graduated cylinder (10ml)
Distilled water
Sodium hydroxide(0.5%)
Sulforic acid(2%)
Baking soda
Lead nitrate(2%)
Copper II sulfate(0.5%)
Copper IIchloride(0.5%)
Phenolphthalein
Aluminum foil


Procedure:

Part A:

1. Cleaned and rinsed test tube and graduated cylinder. Dripped dry test tube and graduated cylinder.
2. Pour 2 mlof distilled water into the clean test tube.
3. Added 5 drops of phenolphthalein to the same test tube. recorded your observations.
4. Added 3 drops of sodium hydroxide to the same testtube. Recorded your observations.
5. Added 15 drops of sulfuric acid to the same test tube. Recorded your observations.
6. Added a very small amount of baking soda to the same test tube.Recorded your observations.
7. Emptied the contents of the test tube down the sink and rinsed with lots of water.
8. Thoroughly cleaned the test tube.
Part B:
9. Added 10 drops of leadnitrate to the cleaned test tube.
10. Added 10 drops of cooper sulfate to the same test tube. Recorded observations.
11. Emptied the contents of the test tube down the sink and rinsed with lots...
