For Datura stramonium metel and are plants with hallucinogenic effect,and also causing the individual amnesia. The latter substance, Macuna pruriens, is a plant with psychomimetic components, with some activity also hallucinogenic.
And if that were not enough, onceunearthed the zombie, it is fed with a paste of atropine and scopolamine, which are dissociative hallucinogens that impact on neurotransmitters and endorphins in the brain.
