A Good English Teacher

These readings talk about an ideal of what is being a good English teacher and how to work with young English learners. Even they are short texts and summarize their points ofview in a way that make them easy to realize, we have to be aware that, we as teachers, are treating with people that have different personalities, and what we have done with a group maybe would not workwith another. At the end, if we are really good teachers, we will know how to face this kind of problems and solve them in a very prosperous way.
One of the points that engage myattention was the five interrelated roles: You as a person, student orientation, task orientation, classroom management and lifelong learning. For me, these are the main keys to be a successful teacher. Ifyou really enjoy you job, if you are happy with it (and not only with teaching but with any job) you will transmit that energy to your students and make them be interest in what are you saying ordoing. I have teachers that always prepare different activities to us in order to practice the language, but in an entertaining form that make us want to know more about the topic. In the other hand, Ialso have other teachers whom the only thing we want to do is leave the classroom as soon as possible and never come back again. Unfortunately, schools of any level accept people that are not prepareto be teachers and only causes a bad reputation for true teachers.
Another important fact is that interacting and have confidence with your students create a comfortable atmosphere forexample, if they have a doubt, they will ask to the teacher without fear to be ridiculed. Also, having this attention will do children feel special and with more desire to go to learn. We as teacher haveto create it because thanks to this, we will be paying attention in what our children are failing and help them to solve their problems.
