A Knight’s Tale
First at the beginning of the movie we can see that William, Roland, and Wat are peasants and they work for their lord that was a knight namedSir Ector that died with one final pass to complete to win a jousting tournament. Destitute, William wears Ector's armor to impersonate him, win the tournament, and secure the prize. Although onlynobles are allowed in tournaments so that was practically a crime that a peasant impersonate a noble especially a knight. Along the way to his first tournament in Rouen, they encounters with a guy namedGeoffrey Chaucer who is also destitute and agrees to forge the patent of nobility that will allow William to enter under the assumed name of "Sir Ulrich von Liechtenstein" from Gelderland, that wasthe named he assumed to be a night .The knight was the sons of the nobles that were trained since childhood to compete. They also have to comply the Code of Chivalry, the Code of Chivalry required tobe brave, loyal and true to their word, in warfare they had to fight fairly, the knight had to protect and cherish the woman and we can see the presence of the Code of Chivalry when William is writingthe love letter to Jocelyn a noble lady whom William has become infatuated with, were he expressed who he felt about her, and also when she ask him to lose the tournament to show his love for her andthat shows his brave.
We can see also in the movie the importance of the church in the Middle Ages. One thing is that they were decorated with care, another one is when William is entering to thechurch to talk with Jocelyn he washed his hands in pure water because it was disrespectful to enter with the hands dirty especially if where going to confess .
Another characteristic of the church inthe middle Ages is when Geoffrey make a bet and two guys punish him getting him naked because they said that, that was a big sin.
Going again back to the nobility there was a rule in the tournament...
