A Mi Amado Y Querido Esposo
The poem “To my Dear and Loving Husband” by Anne Bradstreet not only illustrates an excessive amount of conjugal love and commitment, but how herlove defied all Puritan laws when she expressed her love to her husband. Puritan women were assumed to be modest and respectful to their husbands, never showing such emotion, and if so, only to God.Anne Bradstreet defied this by publicly admiring and praising her husband by showing her commitment and love towards him.
Anne Bradstreet expresses her love in such detail and with such greatness, that I do not think her love for her husband could ever be described by words.
