A new Arrival

In an interesting chat, Kim Oberg shared all her experiences in a once-new country for her: Mexico, and gives us her first impressions of our country.
Kim Oberg, a friend ofone of our team members, which was a joyful experience. We wanted to know why did she visited our country the first time she came, and we found out that it was because she had a school exchangeabout thirty years ago, but she ended up loving Mexico and she decided to come back later on.
The first time she came to Mexico her predictions were not right at all, because she expected avery awful little country; she never thought Mexico would have such an interesting and beautiful culture. The first time she come she only visited Distrito Federal, because there was the familyshe was assigned to stay and lived with for a long period of time. She studied in the Anglohispano Institute and she spent most of her time in there, so she could only visit famous spots inMexico City.
Years later she came back and went to Querétaro city to visit “my step Mexican family” again and went to several places within the area. “I also went to Ixtapa beach for a vacationperiod several years ago”, she told us.
Her best experience in Mexico was the first time she came, because at that time it was all very new to her and she had a blast meeting new friends anda new culture. Her favorite spot it’s the Mexican Zócalo, she told us: “I loved the ruins mixed with modern buildings and the vast mixing of cultures around it”.
She told us that she didn’thad hard times to adjust to our culture, because “I had always thought of herself as a blonde Mexican”, she told us. She loved the warmth and openness of Mexican people and hopes to return onceagain soon.
Kim’s is Tania’s fake aunt and she writes to her often. Alex and Ham enjoyed talking to her, but it was hard to persuade her to talk in English because she likes Spanish the most.
