AC360° Doll Study Revisited: Girl calls her skin “nasty”

This article about the "AC360 ° Doll study" says that among the 130 children who were interviewed for this test halfwere African-American and half were white, half were in the north and half  in south. This study was based on asking the children a series of questions about five cartoon dolls that had different skin tones. The results ofthis test were surprising, white-skinned children have an attachment to their own color and black-skinned children likewise have bias toward white. What was more surprising was the response ofan African-American girl of 5 years old, Brielle, who said “I just don't like the way brown looks because, it looks really nasty for some reason but I don't know what reason.”
Sounds bad for aperson and even a child to say that its own skin color is ugly, but that is because children do not yet have an identity, quite apart from that, children are never satisfied with what they have and always wantmore, besides that, they are influenced by what the rest say. In many children's programs produced in North America are often used actors or puppets of Caucasian skin, rarely brown and this is becauseracism that has come from long time ago and although it has certainly diminished compared to before, still produces effect on children.
These children are marginalized because of the opinion of the rest,and like this girl, in the world there are many people who live tormented because they do not like their skin color, eyes, hair, culture etc. But all this would be different if only man knew how to respectthe cultures of other people, each person was born different and that makes her/him special, a child finds it difficult to see this because it has not known beyond their home and / or his people.
