CANbus™ Toolset
for use with MATLAB® and SIMULINΚ® on PCs Prerequisites
The CANbus Toolset can access, influence and monitor the data flow on the Canbus directly from MATLAB and Simulink inreal-time. The Canbus Toolset’s read and write function can be used directly within MATLAB and Simulink. The read and write functions and blocks in the CANbus Toolset integrate into MATLAB and Simulink justlike any other MATLAB function or Simulink block. Special hardware is required to use the CANbus Toolset. For example, the real Canbus may be coupled a computer and Simulink to access Canbus data whena PCMCIA card is plugged into a laptop or PCI card into the desktop after installing Softing’s CanCard software. The CANbus Toolset also supports accessing the Canbus via USB. Up to 10 Canbuschannels may be used at the same time.

Monitor physical signal available on the Canbus. Develop algorithms, identify systems andcreate control designs as well as test your model. Provide practice approved specifications of new microcontroller functionality. Prototype functions.

There are fourfunctions which may be called from the Matlab command line or from a Matlab program: (1) initialization, (2) read from the Canbus, (3) write to the Canbus and (4) stop the access to the hardware.Highlights
