E-COMMERCE

The e-commerce consists of theThe amount of trade conducted electronically has grown extraordinarily since the spread of the Internet. therefore,as a consequence the meaning ofelectronic commerce has changed over the last 30 years. Originally, electronic commerce meant the facilitation of commercial transactions electronically, using technology such as Electronic Data Interchange(EDI) and Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT).
But with the growth and acceptance of credit cards, automated teller machines (ATM) and telephone banking in the 1980s also forms of electroniccommerce,this growm too. And From the 1990s onwards, electronic commerce would additionally include enterprise resource planning systems (ERP), data mining and data warehousing.
There are three types ofeconomic agents in the e-commerce task:
-Companies/businesses
-public administration
-consumers
The late three could be related each other, conforming 6 different kinds of commercial relations, but themore common ones are:
-B2C(business to consumer)
• Pure-play online sellers, with no traditional shops(pure e-tailing)
• Clicks-and-mortar retail organization, combining e-commerce troughtraditional outlets
-B2B (business to business) the way that groups of companies set up public exchanges as in a reverse auction, where the supplieroffering the lower price get the contract and alsoprivate exchanges where a company deals with suppliersin this way.
Also the e-commerce can be divided into different levels according to the degree of involvement-
The fisrt one ,1. Electronicpresence: It just consists of ”being there”, disposing a web site or e-mail for any client or supplier who want to know about/contact us.
The second one,2. Business promotion: That implies one step further,using internet to send potential clients the business information.(mailings – newsletters)
Following3. Pre/post sale service. Offering specific services to real clients.
